Two soldiers of the US-led coalition have been killed in operations against Taleban militants in south Afghanistan, a coalition statement said.
The soldiers died in Helmand and Kunar provinces on Tuesday.
Last week, one UK soldier was killed and two were seriously injured after a battle with the Taleban.
Attacks blamed on the Taleban and their allies have risen sharply this year, leading to some of the fiercest violence since the 2001 invasion.
The coalition statement said one soldier was killed in Helmand while defending against a Taleban attack. The second soldier died while "engaging enemy forces" in Kunar, it added.
"Afghan national security forces and coalition forces have been conducting continuous offensive operations in southern Afghanistan against Taleban extremists for several months and have greatly disrupted the enemy's ability to organise and act," the statement said.
The statement said that the operation targeting militants and "extending governance to the remote regions of the province" would continue in Kunar.
Last week, the coalition forces said that more than 40 suspected Taleban militants have been killed in clashes in place in Zabul and Uruzgan provinces.
There are more than 26,000 coalition troops in Afghanistan, of which 18,500 are US. The remaining 7,500 come from another 25 countries.
