PRE-MATCH BUILD-UP
2 mins: Tunisia's Ziad Jaziri's flies into the box and takes a tumble, but the referee is having none of it.
1700 BST: The last of the initial group games gets under way in blistering conditions.
1655 BST: Both teams stand with their arms around each other for the national anthems. Both are jaunty little affairs but it's 1-0 to the Saudis in terms of singing.
1645 BST: "It's currently 34C inside the stadium."
Darren Fletcher, BBC Five Live Sport.
1640 BST: "Saudi Arabia are one of only two teams in this World Cup, Italy being the other, where all the players play in their domestic league. The worry here is that players will be going out to sell themselves to the European leagues and will play as individuals rather than a team."
Five Live reporter, Jeddah.
1630 BST: Saudi goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Deayer will have to wait to add to his incredible tally of 181 caps, after being named among the substitutes. Tunisia will start with Ali Boumnijel between the sticks, who at the age of 40 is the oldest player in the tournament.
1620 BST: "A win for either nation in this group puts them in with a very good chance of qualifying for the second phase after Spain's 4-0 hammering of Ukraine earlier."
Darren Fletcher, BBC Five Live Sport.
1615 BST: "The way the stadium is designed, the sun produces a magnifying glass effect. Some of the fans must be boiling."
Jimmy Armfield, BBC Five Live Sport.
1610 BST: Tunisia are without Francileudo Santos for their group opener against Saudi Arabia after the striker picked up a leg injury in a warm-up match. Coach Roger Lemerre has put his faith in 19-year-old Yassine Chikhaoui as a direct replacement for Santos.
Saudi Arabia skipper Sami al-Jaber will start on the bench, after being troubled by a thigh injury. The veteran striker, in line to win his 161st cap, is replaced by 23-year-old Yasser al-Kahtani.
1600 BST: "It's boiling hot here in Munich. We're sat in a stadium that looks more like a spaceship - we're expecting to take off at some point during the game."
Darren Fletcher, BBC Five Live Sport.
