Tim Henman cruised to an impressive 6-2 6-4 victory over Paraguay's Ramon Delgado in the second round of the Stella Artois event at Queen's Club.
The British number three, 31, was in total control throughout and manoeuvred his opponent with ease behind a battery of powerful precision serves.
Henman, ranked 76th in the world, is the only Briton left in the event, the traditional warm-up for Wimbledon.
But the in-form Briton warned: "One sunny day doesn't make a summer."
Henman broke Delgado, the world number 107, in the third and fifth games of the first set and again in the third game of the second set.
French Open champion Rafael Nadal began his Wimbledon build-up by beating America's Mardy Fish 7-6 (7-1) 6-1.
The Spaniard, who admits he is not at home on grass, was made to work hard in the first set by Fish, who won the Surbiton Trophy on Sunday.
"I improved during the match," said Nadal, 20. "I feel confident with myself. It was very important for me, this match.
"I feel good because I had good control of the ball and when I play a little bit more aggressive I feel comfortable, too."
Reigning champion Andy Roddick rallied for a 2-6 6-4 6-3 second-round victory over Canadian qualifier Frank Dancevic.
"I felt like I struggled early on," admitted the American third seed. "I wasn't totally comfortable, but as the match went on, I played better and better."
Roddick is looking to become the first player to win four straight titles at Queen's.
Czech seventh seed Radek Stepanek had his Wimbledon build-up knocked off course as France's Nicolas Mahut beat him 6-4 4-6 6-2.
Croatia's second-seeded Roland Garros semi-finalist Ivan Ljubicic beat Romania's Razvan Sabau 7-6 (8-6) 6-2 to reach the third round.
Russian 15th seed Dmitry Tursunov survived a mid-match wobble before beating Danai Udomchoke of Thailand 6-3 2-6 6-2.
