President Robert Mugabe's Zanu-PF party has retained the first seat in a recount of 23 constituencies in last month's controversial election.
The ruling Zanu-PF has demanded a recount of 21 constituencies. The recount also covers votes cast for president, despite the fact that the presidential results have still not been released. Meanwhile the state-controlled Herald newspaper has urged Zimbabwe's neighbours to broker talks on a government of national unity led by Mugabe. Opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai, who will travel to Mozambique on Wednesday, has said he won the election outright.
