A delegation of five Iraqi parliamentarians is on its way to Iran to discuss concerns about the alleged arming and training of a Shi'ite militia in Iraq.
The Iraqi government says it has evidence of Iranian backing for the Mehdi Army militia of radical Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr. It is currently locked in battles with Iraqi government forces in Baghdad's Sadr City district. Iraqi and US officials accuse special units of Iran's armed forces of providing support for the group.
