Six die in attack on US council ... Germany have agreed to offer Iran a new package of incentives aimed at persuading it to halt its uranium enrichment activities. British Foreign Secretary David Miliband told reporters in London that the incentives were part of a two track strategy on Iran's disputed nuclear programme.
Miliband was speaking following discussions with his counterparts from Germany, Russia, China, France and the US. He said the details of the offer would not be made public. Many Western nations fear that Iran could be seeking to produce nuclear weapons. Tehran insists that its programme is for peaceful purposes only.
