The United Nations' relief operation in the Gaza Strip says it has received enough fuel from Israel to continue operations for the next 20 days.
This came just hours after a spokesman for the UN Relief and Works Agency said that fuel shortages caused by an Israeli blockade would force the suspension of aid that a majority of Gaza's 1.5 million inhabitants rely on to survive. Israel stopped all supplies briefly last month after Palestinian militants attacked the only fuel depot that supplies Gaza.
