Mauritanian Prime Minister Zeine Ould Zeidane has resigned after just a year in office.
He gave no reason for the move. Zeidane had held the premiership since shortly after a military junta handed power to a civilian government through elections in March 2007. He is to be replaced by economist and former minister Yahya Ould Ahmed Waqef.
