India says it has successfully tested its longest range nuclear-capable missile from a military base off the country's eastern coast.
The Agni III, a surface-to-surface missile has a range of 3,000 km and could hit targets as far away as Beijing and Shanghai. According to analysts the missile is one of a series developed as a deterrence strategy against neighbouring China and Pakistan, which also have nuclear weapons.
