Germany has called for more pressure on Iran following the release of the latest report by the United Nations' nuclear watchdog. German Foreign Minister Frank Walter Steinmeier told a gathering of NATO's parliamentary assembly in Berlin that Tehran needed to be given tighter deadlines to resolve outstanding concerns.
Hinting at a further round of UN sanctions, Steinmeier said the alternative was escalation at the UN Security Council. The International Atomic Energy Agency said on Monday Iranian research into nuclear warheads was a matter of serious concern. It also called on Tehran to disclose more information on its missile-related activities.
