German officials say a German biology research student is missing in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Germany's Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology says that she set out last Thursday from the Lui Kotal research camp in the Salonga National Park to look at the habitat of bonobos. An institute statement on Tuesday says she set out with an experienced research assistant. Both had a compass and GPS navigation devices.
