Early parliamentary elections are taking place in Macedonia.
The impoverished Balkan state's ruling coalition was in office for less than two years. It was divided over reforms and rights for the country's Albanian minority before it was dealt a final blow by missing NATO membership in March, when Greece blocked Macedonia's entry over the long-running dispute regarding its name.
