The Pakistan Cricket board has called a press conference following reports that a national player has been detained in Dubai for carrying drugs.
Unconfirmed reports say fast bowler Mohammed Asif was held on Sunday at Dubai airport.
Dubai airport police refused to comment.
Asif was apparently returning home from India, where he played in the Indian Premier League Twenty20 tournament.
He played for the Delhi team, the Delhi Daredevils, in the competition.
The 25-year-old player is considered one of the most promising fast bowlers in Pakistan.
He has claimed 51 wickets in 11 Test matches and 36 wickets in 31 one-day-international matches.
