Three people have been killed in storms that hit southwest Germany overnight.
Two women travelling in a car drowned after the vehicle was engulfed by water. Another woman died in a flooded cellar. A train driver was also seriously injured when his train crashed into a fallen tree on the line. Rescue services worked through the night to reach people stranded by the sudden flooding. Heavy rainstorms have repeatedly struck the south of the country in recent days after unusually hot weather.
