03.06.2008 - Kotrba is new Czech under-21 soccer team coach
the Czech national under-21 soccer team, Vlastimil Kostal, deputy chairman
of the Czech soccer association CMFS, told CTK today.
Kotrba, 50, replaces Vitezslav Lavicka who left the post to coach the Czech
first soccer league team of Sparta Praha.
Kotrba, who is currently the general manager of the Czech first league club
of Ceske Budejovice, was assistant coach of the national under-21 team in
the mid-1990s.
Kostal said the contract has not yet been signed.
Under Kotrba, the under-21 team is to play two European qualifiers in the
autumn.
Kostal said the contract is likely to cover the qualifiers with an option
for further cooperation.
