Czech minister pushing for teachers' pay inrease ... Union's chief diplomat, Javier Solana, has presented Iran with a deal to curb its nuclear ambitions.
Solana delivered the proposal to Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki at a meeting in Tehran. The package offers Iran political and trade incentives in return for halting uranium enrichment. Mottaki said in a statement that Iran's response to the offer would be based on how Iran's own set of proposals to end the nuclear stand-off were received. Iran's official news agency reported that the country's government had ruled out any agreement which involves suspending nuclear activities as a precondition.
