17.07.2008 - VW gets regulatory approval to control Scania

Germany's Volkswagen AG says it has completed the process of getting antitrust approval for its plan to take a majority voting stake in Swedish truck maker Scania AB.

Europe's biggest carmaker said it expects to move ahead with increasing its 38 percent stake in Scania on July 22. The deal is worth some 2.8 billion euros and will see VW's share of voting rights increase to some 69 percent.
