A UN war crimes court in the Hague has added two convictions to the charge sheet of a former Yugoslav general over the 1991 bombing of the city of Dubrovnik.

The appeals chamber of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia has however cut six-months off his eight year sentence due to age and ill health. 75-year-old Pavle Strugar was found guilty on additional counts of wanton destruction and unlawful attacks on civilians. The court also overturned a finding by the trial court that criminal intent could not be proved, over his role in the attack on the world heritage city in December 1991.
