The Beijing Olympics are over and China won praise from around the world for the Games.

Sunday's closing ceremony was an elaborate show with thousands of actors, musicians, acrobats and a fireworks display that equalled those from the opening ceremony more than two weeks ago. International Olympic Chief Jacques Rogge called the games truly exceptional. Germany's Interior Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble said in an interview to appear in Monday's Bild newspaper that China opened itself to IOC's Rogge optimistic for even greater London games ...
