Call for Musharraf treason trial ... Pakistan's ruling coalition says he is withdrawing his movement from the government.
Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif blamed his partners for failing to agree to slash the powers of the presidency and reinstate all judges sacked last year by former President Pervez Musharraf. Last week, Sharif set Monday as a deadline for his partners to solve the key disputes. The withdrawal is not expected to trigger fresh elections and Sharif has promised to play a "constructive" role in dealing with the governing Pakistan People's Party. However, the two parties will put forward competing candidates to contest a presidential election on September 6.
