Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zuzana Opletalova said that the Czech Republic's position on Georgia remained the same.

Police initiate charges against Czech-Afghan chamber head ... and the USA have rejected today's decision by Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to recognise the two rebel regions of Georgia as independent states as regrettable.
The decision was also rejected by Britain while Georgia said it would take Moscow into isolation.
The Czech government of Prime Minister Mirek Topolanek (senior ruling Civic Democrats, ODS) has backed Georgia in the recent conflict over South Ossetia.
Last week it condemned the Russian operation in Georgia and supported Georgian elected officials.
"The continuing Russian military invasion of Georgia that violates international law is unacceptable," Topolanek said on August 20.
He said the Czech Republic supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Georgia, including South Ossetia and Abkhazia.
While the Czech government put the blame for the conflict on Russia Czech President Vaclav Klaus said it was Georgia that was responsible for the Russia-Georgia conflict.
Klaus has questioned the government's decision to set aside 150 million crowns in aid of Georgia.
He said he was not sure whether Georgia needs Czech humanitarian and financial aid more than other countries in the world.
